Amazing blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
I'm planning to start my own site soon but I'm a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like
Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that
I'm totally confused .. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello,

I follow on from your comment at http://www.calade-echecs.com/pages/club/aces.html.

I will tell you about e-monsite and Wordpress, these are the CMS I know the best, especially e-monsite.
From what I could see and compare with both, they are similar : a free base with limited storage space (250 MB for e-monsite) and page edition functions. I suppose this is the same thing with other CMS.
e-monsite contains some free modules (blog for example) and paid options with module sets. It's more customisable with Wordpress , more options, paid or not.
The name domain is something apart. e-monsite offer a customisable name domain, I don't know about Wordpress. Subscribe to this is not necessary, but your name domain will contain then name of the platform ("www.sitename.e-monsite.com").

If you have already practiced on a CMS, I suggest you to choose this. You will have a familiar environment and you will win a lot of time.
Otherwise, choose Wordpress. It is more famous than e-monsite and have a stronger community.
Take ONLY a paid option if you excactly know your needs. Otherwise, the free version is enough to test. You will change the CMS if you don't like it.

Personally my favourite is e-monsite simply this is the CMS I have the chance to use. When I got back the site http://www.calade-echecs.com the priority was to put the site in order. Then, I have become accustomed to e-monsite.

But if one day I have the chance to use an other, I could revise my judgment, who knows ?

To sum up :
- Use a CMS you know, Wordpress otherwise
- Free version except if you know your needs with precision, in this case you will can choose a suitable offer or stay on the free version if it is sufficient (personal blog for example !)
- To know HTML/CSS is better, not necessary. CMS are designed for everyone and not especially developers
- Ask your acquaintances, they will can complete my opinion.

Good luck !

I go to see daily some web sites and websites to read content, except this
website presents feature based content.
